Courses and Curriculum
The MS Nursing - Nurse Leadership program at Ottawa University is designed to help registered nurses gain the leadership strategies, critical-thinking skills, and professional qualifications to take the next step in their careers – whether that’s in nursing education or a management position. There is a tremendous need for qualified leaders in the nursing profession. This MSN program, with core coursework on topics ranging from advanced health assessment to exploring cultural diversity, will put students on the right track to fill those roles.
Program Format and Pricing
The MSN is designed to be completed with consecutive enrollment throughout the 2-year program, which consists of 6 semesters. Courses are offered every 8-weeks with 6 terms per year.

Accreditation
Ottawa University is regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and has been continuously accredited for more than 100 years. Admission Requirements
To Apply
To begin the application process, simply click the application link found in your initial communication from HMS. You will fill out the application form, upload supporting documents, and submit it for final review. There is no application fee.
Application Deadline
The application deadline is 2 weeks before the program start date if you are already in the US with a valid visa. Otherwise, the application deadline is 2 months before the program start date. The university reserves the right to stop accepting applications at any time should classes reach capacity.

Degree Certificates and Transcripts

Include all university transcripts. The degree conferral date must appear on all USA transcripts where a degree was earned.
Transcript evaluation from a NACES Approved Organization

e.g., CGFNS, ECE, WES, Josef Silny
Proof of RN License and NCLEX-RN

A valid US nursing license showing the license number and expiration date. If the expiration date does not appear on the license, obtain a QuickConfirm report from www.nursys.com and upload it to the application.
Two Current Letters of Recommendation

Letters accepted from academic and professional sources. Letters must be written and signed by the recommenders themselves in their own words.
Professional Resume or Curriculum Vitae
Proof of English Proficiency

TOEFL 84 IBT, recommended minimum speaking band 26; IELTS 6.5, all individual bands 6.0 or above, recommended speaking band 7; PTE Academic 56. Not required if you have studied or worked in the USA.
Passport

Individuals already in the USA must also include copies of their visa, most recent I-20, and I-94.
Bank Statement

Bank statements of $29,530 in financial support. Pay stubs cannot be used as proof of financial support. You can use bank statements, loans, lines of credit, or sponsor bank statements with a signed/dated sponsorship letter to show the required funds. An additional $6000 in financial support must be shown for each dependent.
