Admission Requirements
To Apply
To begin the application process, simply click the application link found in your initial communication from HMS. You will fill out the application form, upload supporting documents, and submit it for final review. There is no application fee.
Application Deadline
The application deadline is 2 weeks before the program start date if you are already in the US with a valid visa. Otherwise, the application deadline is 2 months before the program start date. The university reserves the right to stop accepting applications at any time should classes reach capacity.

Statement of Commitment

1-2 page essay discussing your plans to balance the required time commitment of the program with your work schedule, other demands, and unforeseen obstacles/challenges that will need to be overcome to complete the program in the 3-year time frame.
Degree Certificates and Transcripts

Include all university transcripts. The degree conferral date must appear on all USA transcripts where a degree was earned.
Two Current Letters of Recommendation

Letters accepted from academic and professional sources. Letters must be written by the recommenders themselves in their own words and signed.
Professional Resume or Curriculum Vitae
Statement of Research Interest

1-page essay discussing 1) why you are interested in pursuing the Doctorate of Business Administration degree, and 2) key organizational problems you are facing that could be addressed through applied research. Include information about your career goals following successful completion of the program, the area of business that interests you, and specific research topics that interest you.
Proof of English Proficiency

IELTS (6.5) or TOEFL (79) or DuoLingo (110). Not required if you have studied or worked in the USA.
Passport

Individuals already in the USA must also include copies of their visa, most recent I-20, and I-94.
Bank Statement

Bank statements of $29,530 in financial support. Pay stubs cannot be used as proof of financial support. You can use bank statements, loans, lines of credit, or sponsor bank statements with a signed/dated sponsorship letter to show the required funds. An additional $6000 in financial support must be shown for each dependent.

Program Format and Pricing
The DBA is designed to be completed with consecutive enrollment throughout the 3-year program, which consists of 9 semesters. Courses are offered every 8-weeks with 6 terms per year. New students are accepted during the Spring 1, Summer 1, and Fall 1 terms.

Ottawa University is regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and has been continuously accredited for more than 100 years.
